
Meet Miriam
Miriam Liss (she/her) is a professor of psychological science at the University of Mary Washington. She is also an affiliated faculty member in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program. She’s a clinical psychologist who has been recognized for both her teaching and her research. She received the State Council for Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) Outstanding Faculty Award in 2015. She has published widely in an extensive range of fields within the psychology of women, including feminist identity, the objectification and sexualization of women, the division of labor, and motherhood. She is co-author of Balancing the Big Stuff: Finding Happiness in Work, Family, and Life.
