Reach out – we’d love to work with you whether it will be in-person or online.
Possible Topics
We’ll work with you to identify the topics, modality, and length that’s right for your group, but here are some possible topics that could be covered (on their own or in combination).
Intersectionality 101
In this session, we help people grapple with what intersectionality is and isn’t, why it’s relevant for their group or organization, and how using an intersectional lens can help us do our jobs better.
Exploring Power and Privilege
Looking to help people understand personal and institutional power as well as how privilege and oppression plays a role in our lives? If so, this is the session for you.
Microaggressions in the Classroom
We talk about what microaggressions are, how to identify them, how to respond when witnessing them, and why attending to this can help student success.
Helpful and Unhelpful Ways to Talk about Identity
It’s important to consider identity, but all approaches aren’t equal. In this workshop, learn about the do’s and don’ts of talking about identity.
Helping Students Build Inter- and Intrapersonal Skills
Many faculty bring a skill-based approach to their course design. In this session we address why focusing in inter- and intrapersonal skills are important additions to these skill-based designs.
Values and Ethics in Scholarship and Teaching
We all have values and follow ethical guidelines, but what those are differ from person to person. This is a workshop that helps you consider what your values are, how they impact your scholarship and teaching, and how to be more transparent about them.
Applied Action and Application in Research
Many researchers study topics because they want to understand the world and create change. Moving from theory to application, however, can be challenging. This workshop is designed to help researchers clarify their applied goals and develop a plan to work towards them.
Facilitating Difficult Dialogues
Challenging conversations happen – whether in the classroom or in meetings with colleagues. In this session we’ll talk about how to handle these moments and leverage them into beneficial learning experiences.
What Does It Mean to Have a “Safe Zone”?
Lots of schools have Safe Zone programs (addressing LGBTQ+ inclusivity). These are great, but what does it really mean to have a “safe zone”? We’ll talk about both the benefits and limits of programs like these.
Building Allyship Across Difference
Many people want to work with those who are part of socially marginalized groups to create large-scale social change. In this session, we talk about what it means to be an ally as well as why “ally” can be a complicated label.
Coalition Building To Create Change
Successful and sustainable change is often a result of coalitions coming together. Coalition building can be challenging, however. This is a workshop designed to help both individuals and groups grapple with the goals and realities of coalition building.
Health and Wellness in Activism
Activism and advocacy is needed to create lasting social change, but it is always very demanding and draining from those taking on those roles. In this session, we talk about how to integrate self-care and activism for more sustainable success.
